3 American Concertos isn’t exactly “new” it’s just that I haven’t put it up for sale on this site till now. I had an idea that it would be a good thing to record some concertos but with the piano reduction instead of the orchestra setting for which they were originally composed. I feel there are a lot of great contemporary concertos out there that rarely get played because the piano reduction is so unplayable. I worked with each of these composers in making truly playable reductions in hopes that these fantastic works find their way to recital stages more often.
Drift: Live From Harper is a recording of a concert I gave as culmination of my sabbatical project. During my sabbatical I had the amazing opportunity to study with Ralph Alessi, Tim Berne, Drew Gress and other incredible musicians at the School of Improvised Music in Brooklyn over the course of a few weeks. The music on this recording are all works that I composed or arranged during this time.
